Founded in 1823, Auchentoshan is the closest distillery to Glasgow and produces Scotland's only fully triple distilled malt. Its its name comes from Gaelic and translates as corner of the field.
This is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to triple distil its whisky. The distillate is collected at 81% alc/vol., making it the strongest malt whisky prior to reduction to 40% for bottling. This unique expression of Auchentoshan has been matured in three different cask types. Moving from American Bourbon to Spanish Oloroso Sherry - and finally Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks - Three Wood is a rich, complex whisky with incredible toffee and sherry oak flavours.
